Gulliver in Scotland
Kids will find a place for play anywhere that’s even mildly different from the surroundings, and this eerie statue of Gulliver the Gentle Giant in Edinburgh, Scotland is no exception. Jimmy Boyle, a convicted murderer, was serving time in Glasgow when he designed this statue, only to have it built by a comedian and clown Billy Connolly with some help of the locals. It was unveiled in 1978. The sculpture long served as a symbol for the community before recently falling into disrepair and being dismantled in favor of a flood prevention system. However, thanks to a drone it will live on forever on the internet.
