This photograph of a young Sophia Loren was shot by David Seymour, who is also known for his iconic portraits of fellow Hollywood sirens, Ingrid Bergman and Audrey Hepburn. Here Loren, who is one of the most gorgeous women ever captured on celluloid, is pictured at her home in Italy in 1955. Seymour had an equally high-profile career, which started in Paris in the 1930s. He photographed the UNICEF project, Children of War, and captured the realities of the Spanish Civil War. Seymour died in a hail of bullets near the Suez Canal just a year later.
